Dear Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of the Institute for Market Transformation’s Board of Directors, it is with very mixed emotions that we are announcing that Lotte Schlegel, Executive Director, will step down in March 2024.

“With Lotte’s outstanding leadership and the work of our talented staff, IMT has evolved into an organization that puts people and equity at the center of our mission to decarbonize buildings,” said Adam Hinge, IMT Board Chair. “It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with Lotte both over the past four years while she has been Executive Director, and her earlier time at IMT helping to dramatically and sustainably grow the organization.”

“Under Lotte’s leadership, IMT has created a Community Engagement division, completed an in-depth series of diversity, equity and inclusion workshops, and co-launched Community Climate Shift, an initiative that brings together local governments, partners, and community-based organizations to change the way we design and implement building policies.” said Sandra Henry, IMT Board Chair-Elect. “These actions have set IMT on a fundamentally new course that supports environmental justice as well as climate action.”

We offer our best wishes to Lotte on the next chapter of her career and thank her for working closely with us and the staff to plan for a smooth transition. The Board of Directors has retained Koya Partners to help recruit the next Executive Director. The job description is available on their website here. Board member Julia Gisewite is chairing the Search Committee, comprised of IMT Board and Staff; we aim to have a new Executive Director in place by spring 2024.

We appreciate and welcome your support during this time.

Sincerely,

Adam Hinge and Sandra Henry
