The City Energy Project Code Compliance Assessment Methodology for Medium and Large Cities is designed to assist medium to large cities in identifying residential and commercial energy code compliance issues and help identify the areas that each jurisdiction should focus on in order to improve their compliance rates.
The methodology provides an informal energy code compliance rate that is not intended to be statistically valid or supersede the 90 percent compliance methodology recommended by the U.S. Department of Energy. Compliance information collected as part of the study can feed into larger statewide compliance studies. Strategies to compliance are contained in the Establishing a Plan to Achieve Energy Code Compliance in Cities document.
Evaluating Energy Code Compliance in Cities is an overview of the full-length methodology.
