The Standard Bearers Award was a national recognition program developed by IMT with support from the International Code Council (ICC). Standard Bearers distinguished state and local code programs and building officials who were setting a precedent for energy code compliance in the U.S. These Standard Bearers assure the many benefits of adopted modern energy codes are realized through smart, cost-effective, and innovative strategies that increase compliance. They safeguard the buildings where we live and work and help ensure they are designed, built, and renovated to foster safety, comfort, and energy savings.
*The Standard Bearers Award is no longer an active IMT recognition program. The award is now solely managed by ICC and has been renamed the National Leadership in Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Award. More information on this and ICC’s other awards programs can be found here.
