Washington, DC – March 31, 2020 – The Institute for Market Transformation (IMT) is proud to announce that it is a 2021 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for its outstanding efforts in energy efficiency program delivery.

In 2020, IMT’s work in supporting ENERGY STAR to deliver energy efficiency programs included:
- Accelerating the development of building performance standards that leverage ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to improve building efficiency and performance.
- Supporting commercial buildings in increasing ENERGY STAR scores, such as through the Washington, D.C.-based Building Innovation Hub.
- Increasing the number of buildings benchmarked through Portfolio Manager via new benchmarking legislation and technical support, such as work completed through the City Energy Project and the Bloomberg American Cities Climate Challenge.
- Increasing the number of buildings benchmarking through Portfolio Manager via private sector engagement, including through Green Lease Leaders recognition program and the Landlord-Tenant Energy Partnership.
